Cheese and Chive Wholemeal Waffles

Sometimes I feel we forget how good savoury waffles can be! We are so busy topping them with berries and maple syrup, chocolate drizzle or peanut butter! Why not try making this variation. I topped mine with hot flaked salmon fillet and a poached egg. Delicious.

What you need

1 cup wholemeal flour
1 egg
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp fat free greek yoghurt
50g grated cheese (I used Eat Lean Cheese – high protein low fat cheese)
Handful chopped chives
Pinch of salt

What to do

  1. Pop the egg, flour, baking powder, salt, yoghurt and milk in a NutriBullet and blend.
  2. Stir in the cheese and chives.
  3. Pop the mix into a hot waffle maker and let it sizzle!
  4. It really is that easy! Top with your desired toppings and enjoy.
